The Wandoan Coal Project is situated to the west of the Queensland town of Wandoan. The Wandoan township is located a few hundred metres off the Leichhardt Highway 66 kilometres north of Miles, 407 kilometres north-west of Brisbane, and 382 kilometres south-west of the Port of Gladstone, in the local government area of the Western Downs Regional Council.

The Project’s exploration tenure consists of Mineral Development Licences and Exploration Permits for Coal held by Xstrata Coal Queensland.
